I used to think I could only worship God with songs by Christian artists, now I know you can worship him with any song.
I am staying in the bush of Africa for a couple of days to go on a safari. There is a lookout tower that overlooks beautiful land filled with trees. It is a beautiful place. We were sitting out there tonight and I was just watching the moon and the stars. There is no power here, so you could imagine how bright and beautiful they are. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran came on and suddenly I had a new perspective on the song. I used to think it was about a relationship between a man and a women. Well it is, but between Jesus and us. The greatest love story ever told.
“Take me into your loving arms.” Jesus holds us to comfort us.
“We found love right where we are.” Jesus accepts you right where you are standing no matter your past.
“I know you will still love me the same.” Jesus’s love is unchanging and constant.
I’m realizing God loves to talk to us in ways we wouldn’t expect, if we are willing to listen.
I wrote this blog a couple months ago when I was still in Malawi and never posted it. A couple new blogs will be coming soon! I am now in the Philippines and loving it!
