Here I sit in a hotel room with my parents in a city that holds my heart, Atlanta.
In a few short hours I will begin the adventure of Launch and the Race will begin.
I really can’t believe it! In all honesty that this day is actually here.
A few days ago I had taken up residence in my family room packing up all my stuff and I heard my parents talking in the kitchen. I heard my name being said so being me I called to them saying something along the lines of: “What are you guys saying about me?”
My dad said one sentence that will forever reign true and I will forever hold close to my heart, “Gwen, you drive us crazy, but we love you.”
Throughout the preparation of the World Race, I have come to know a few things: To do the Race, you do have to be a little insane. Perhaps not certifiably, but just enough to go all out for Jesus and the call He has placed on your Heart, to drop it all and run after Him, and a want to fall more deeply in love with our mighty Father. Let alone we’re living out of backpacks for a year.
So when my dad said this, I simply had to laugh. Here I am packing a backpack that I’ll be living out of for a year, going to countries I have only dreamed of, and following my Father blindly to where He is leading me. I am a little bit crazy. Crazy for what He is calling me to do. We all are.
But, I am so excited for what this next year holds!
So, thank you with every fiber of my being to each and every of you who is reading this, supporting me, and praying for me. Without you I would not be where I am today. I would not be 56% funded as I about to Launch! I would not be on this amazing adventure with such a great support system behind me!
I cannot thank you all enough. You mean the world to me. Thank you so much! I love you all dearly!
I know that this new year holds new adventures and new hopes and dreams for us all. Go out and be a little crazy with going after them!
