We’re sitting outside in 30 degree weather. She’s sitting in the chair, I’m crouched on the concrete with my hands on her foot. She’s sees that I’m shaking from the cold and asks if we should do this in her warm van. I say no, I’ll be fine. I keep hearing ‘Mighty Faith’ I tell her and ‘Dancing and Running.’ What does Papa have up His grand sleeve?

I’ve written a lot about divine appointments and this past week I had another. A little over a year ago I worked at a coffee shop over a summer and met a girl who worked there too. She had such a beautiful heart and happy demeanor it was always a pleasure working with her. We lost touch after the summer, she went back to her university, and I mine until about a week ago when I was working at my job back in town hanging up clothes. I thought I recognized her but I wasn’t totally sure. I was talking to one of my co-workers when I saw her and her friend walking around the store, I heard her name go through my head but figured I give it until they walked around again to see if it was really her or not. A lot of college students were home for break so chances were it probably was her!

She recognized me first and said “Hi” and we started talking. I asked her how school was and it turns out she just graduated in December and didn’t really have set plans, which was totally ok. She asked how school was for me and for some crazy reason I told her in specific detail that I was working there until the 7th when I would launch out on my mission trip. She was intrigued and asked what trip and I told her I was going to 11 countries in 11 months.

“Wait, the World Race?” She said?

“You’ve heard of it? Yea, I’m going on it!”

“No way! I’m going on it in September!”

I kid you not, I screamed in the store.

We found ourselves a few days later sitting in Starbucks talking about the Race and the plans God had for us. It was awesome to talk to another Racer and see all that God has for her. I truly cannot wait to see how she grows before and during the Race.

As we were leaving Starbucks I noticed she had a boot on her foot. We prayed at our table together, but when I asked her what had happened she said she broke some bone in her foot moving a couch out of her apartment. I instantly heard ‘Pray’. I asked her if  I could. So there we sat in 30 degree weather outside Starbucks praying. She sat in the chair, me crunched on the ground holding her boot where the break was.

I would love to say that my hands got so warm with the Holy Spirit that I didn’t feel the cold, but that totally didn’t happen. I was shaking from the cold and she noticed, but I knew I needed to keep praying. She had Great Faith and I know that’s going to heal her. I asked her if her foot hurt anywhere and she said it didn’t really hurt in the boot but did when it wasn’t in it. So she took her foot out of the boot and we prayed. Then she touched her foot, which usually hurt and it didn’t. Jesus healed her! At least some if not all!

She walked a bit and carried her boot to her car! How amazing is our Papa! Jesus heals, plain and simple.

Now she can run and dance all she would like for the joy of the Lord.

What a wonderful way to start out the New Year : )
