Guats up people
For those of you back in America my name for the last month has been “batman”. My team has been blessed to be able to do some work for an orphanage. Casa de mi padre houses 22 children (7 girls/ 15 boys) between 4 and 13. My team washed windows, light fixtures, sealed windows, painted the exterior of the home and many other fun tasks..
This is our pride and joy. This lot is approximately 20 by 30 yards and is in the process of becoming an addition to a Christian school that the orphans and a few other neighborhood children attend.
The lot is currently being rented for 10 years. Pastor David and his church raised the funds for the school and the sponsorship of Jeff of Missouri has given these 22 amazing children a hope for the future with food, clothing, a place to call home, and a relationship with God and Godly people.
My team cleared trees, uprooted very stubborn stumps, disassembled rusty fences, cleared grass and trash, this was all done in a matter of days.
In the trash we found perfume, cologne, creepy baby doll heads, shoes, diapers, radios, blankets, and even a few frogs, lizards and other critters.
With nothing but hoes, shovel, rakes, a pick axe and a few machetes the land was cleared and sewage trenches were dug. We also assembled some rebar stability pierces and dug the support foundation for the back wall of the school.
