While in college I studied abroad in Brazil. Dona Marta is Rio de Janiero’s first pacified favela. On our class visit there I witnessed “Jesus Christ saves” spray painted on a wall. As my class left the favela a street child came up to us asking for money. A burst of overwhelming emotion stirred in those moments. I heard God’s call to missions. Personally experiencing God’s presence in this community reminded me of Matthew 22:36-40 which states, the greatest two commandments are to love God and to love people. My heart is deeply rooted with God's children among the nations
Food For the Hungry (FH) works in more than 25 countries worldwide with churches, leaders, and families to overcome poverty. They teach the children how to care for themselves and their families. They share the word of God with the children so that each and every one of them know that they are made in God’s image and He loves them. FH develops a relationship with the community and the children that is continuous.

This is Rabish Kumar Sahni, a child in India I currently sponsor.
For each child that is sponsored FH will donate $50.00 to my World Race. Just click on the link on the side of my blog that looks like this:

You can then select a country, a gender, and a child to sponsor. BONUS: If you select a child in one of the countries I am going to I may get to meet the child you are sponsoring! (Guatemala, Nicaragua, Cambodia, and Mozambique are the countries I’m going to that FH works in). Once you sponsor your child you will receive a picture of them to be reminded of your good deed daily.
I can’t wait to meet God’s children of the world and share their stories with you. Do you want to be a part of their story?
