First blog post ever right here folks! I enjoy reading my friend’s blogs as well as other people I find interesting but I never wanted to blog myself because I didn’t really feel like sharing my thoughts and emotions publicly. I still don’t really feel like it but hey, The World Race is making me so I don’t really have a choice. Here’s to being willing to change and opening up and exposing some vulnerabilities.
Also, my strengths are in math and science NOT english and grammar so judge all you want, it won’t bother me. Feel free to correct my grammar. How will I ever improve unless I know I’m making mistakes? Counting on you mom…
I’m finally announcing publicly for the first time that Yes, I’m going on the World Race! It’s time to jump in head first and go full speed. Most people have already been at it for months now and have raised thousands of dollars in support. They’re just overachievers…I’m a late comer and i’m sitting at a stunning $150 which is my own money I was required to deposit in order to secure my spot on the squad. Time is however ticking and I have deadlines to meet, but I’m not worried or stressed (yet) because I know that when God wants you to do something, He’ll provide the means.
It seems that The World Race is all that I’m thinking about these days! I’m so excited about so many things right now! I’ll be meeting undoubtedly some amazing people, traveling the world seeing 11 different countries and cultures, and most importantly I’m excited to see how God will change me personally as well as everyone else on my squad and team!
In the months leading up to my decision to go on The World Race I’ve been asked several questions that I thought were important for other’s to here. Some of these questions I’m able to answer pretty easily and others are very difficult and uncomfortable to answer. I won’t answer them right now but instead in future posts, so tune back in shorty 😉
- Why would you quit your engineering job where you’re making good money to be poor and uncomfortable for a whole year?
- If you really dislike your job that much why not just look for another job you might enjoy more first before committing a whole year of your life?
- Whats my true motive in going on The World Race?
- How are you going to raise $16,267 by the end of the year?
- What will you be doing on The World Race?
- What missions organization does The World Race work through and what do they believe?
- What are your plans for when you return?
- Are you going into full-time Christian service?
Again, first blog…looks like you made it to the end at least!
Suggestions welcome!
Until next time…
