So I’m in Thailand this month! Just got here, just got briefed on ministry this month, and we could use some awesome heart felt prayer!
During this month we will be doing ministry in the Red Light district of Chiang Mai.
By all means, prostitution is completely illegal here in Thailand, unfortunately it happens everywhere in broad daylight.
During this season of the year in Chiang Mai there are about 25,000 male, female, and child prostitutes on the streets in this city alone. We will be walking all throughout the streets during the day praying over them, and then during the night a few will go out to the bars while a group stays back worshiping and praying to God for His presence and power to be manifested.
We need the power of the Holy Spirit to show up! We need the Spirit to burn His love into the hearts of those being bought and into those who are doing the buying. If God doesn’t show up then what separates us from every other religion or humanitarian project? Only God can truly reveal His love for us in our heart of hearts for His love goes beyond all understanding and knowledge.
This issue of sex trafficking isn’t simply because these people lack education and money. You need simply look to America to realize that education and money doesn’t eradicate evil. This is an issue of the heart, for the heart is the wellspring of life and from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Just as water reflects a man’s face, so a man’s heart reflects the man (Proverbs 27:19; 4:23, Matthew 12:34).
One will no longer buy children off the streets once they realize how much God loves them. One will fight to get off the streets once they realize how much God loves them. Only God can shut down this sex trafficking industry for good, but that comes when everyone knows how much God loves them. But without the power of God how can the love of God pierce the hearts of man?
So pray with us! Pray that this comes to an end. Pray that this continual raping of men, women, and children ceases! Pray! We need prayer right now! Stop what you are doing and pray over this city. Write it in your journal, write it on your mirror, on the palms of your hand, in your Bible, and pray! Bring it up in Bible Studies, small groups, youth groups, etc. and pray! Pray that when my team goes out this month that they go out in the power of God. Pray that this love pierces every heart we come across. Pray.
” For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
