I just got back from training camp, and I got to meet my Squad!  And let me tell you, my Squad is filled to the brim with mighty men and women of God.  I just can’t believe that Lord has blessed me with such an amazing family.  I say it a lot, and they make fun of me for it, but I am so in love with them all! I can’t wait for the next six weeks to go by so that I may reunite with all of them and head overseas.

Nonetheless, as a Racer, how one spends their time of “waiting” to FINALLY go overseas can greatly affect their 11 months.  I believe this time of waiting might actually be one of the most important seasons a Racer enters into.

PRAISE JESUS THOUGH!  I love you guys so much I will give you one word of advice with what to do as you wait:

NOTHING

That’s right, do absolutely nothing!

               Just rest

Fall more in Love with Jesus

Simply BE with him.

That’s it!  What should we as Christians do to “become better” Christians?  Absolutely nothing! Just rest in who He is and what He has done for us!

I went on the Race back in July 2012 to fulfill the Great Commission.  The Church had shoved the importance of fulfilling the Great Commission down my throat.  “I must GO,” I thought to myself.

GO GO GO GO GO GO!!!

I heard so many teachings and sermons on that word “Go.”  I must Go and make disciples of all nations or else I’m not a true disciple of Christ.  Before long the Great Commission had become my Great Commandment.

Going had become far more important than loving my God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength.  So I WENT to work FOR Jesus.  I went as a servant. . . an orphan, and not as a son.  It was time to prove myself.  Needless to say, because my relationship with Jesus was broken I left a trail of broken relationships for the first two months.  Those are two months I can never get back.

Future Racers!

Fall more in love with Jesus!  Listen to the Spirit whisper in your ear, “You are my son, my daughter, with whom I am well pleased.” Don’t become like Martha, where working for Jesus became far more important that being with Him.

As you fall more in love with Him you will naturally “Go.”  That aroma, that fragrance of Christ will naturally flow from you wherever you are (2 Corinthians 2:14-17).  If you are so madly in love with Jesus every breath you take and place you go will be a fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Be bold, be audacious, but also be sincere and loving in everything that you do.  Don’t be ashamed.  How could one be ashamed to talk about such an amazing love!  Hell, as you fall more in love you can’t help but talk about it!

Don’t let the Great Commission overtake the Great Commandment.  Fall more in love and everything else will follow.

I normally don’t do this, but I recommend these two books for future Racers.  And I advise you read them in this order.
