When we got to Manzini, it was different than my last 2 times there. It was still school break and carepoints weren’t open yet. I was bumped, because I love going to carepoints. But I’m not the biggest fan of prayer walks and ATLs (Ask The Lord), which we did quite a bit at first. (I know prayer walks and ATLs are great. It can just be difficult doing them).
I asked God for opportunities to do more. Then I meet Bongiwe. I was like awesome! Thanks God for this opportunity.
I wasn’t expecting more. But there was more.
See one of the women who came to do people’s hair had a baby. And the pastor of the church we went to asked us during a service to get involved with the youth group. Some of the ladies in the office asked me to help edit the lesson plans that were being worked on. We had the opportunity to go to Hosea’s Heart girls home. I meet Khansiyle Mamba by Mangwaneni Carepoint. She’s part of the Municipal Council of Manzini. She’s the one who introduced me to Noxolo’s mom, told me how Noxolo needs a new prosthetic leg and crutches, and asked if there was any other I could help the kids in Mangwaneni. Then when I was walking back to where we stay, I met 2 women who said they’d just been at the AIM office asking for help with school fees. One of them asked if I could maybe help for next year. I said I didn’t know, but we swapped our info anyway. And of course needing more money for the Bongiwe’s children’s school stuff, too.
So there was a lot. And I was like God this is too much. Why are you giving me all this opportunities?!?!
And I felt God reminding me opportunity is exactly what I asked for. So I decided to take what I was given.
I babysat the baby some. I went to youth group and ended up sharing an original poem during church. I helped edit the lesson plans when I was able. I went to the girls home twice. I realize I have a great contact in Khansiyle Mamba. And I’m looking into how to get Noxolo a new prosthetic leg and crutches. And if at all able I want to help Bongiwe’s family and the other women I met with school expenses for next year.
So it would seem when God gives us something, especially something we ask for, we should take it.
And also I now realize how even little things such as someone asking me to go to a carepoint or walk to Spar is a great opportunity.
I hope ya take some opportunities! And know that no matter how much God gives ya, God is enough to handle it all.
Much love!
