I may have mentioned before that prayer walks and Ask The Lord (ATL) is not my favorite thing to do ever. But on one prayer walk we met a woman named Bongiwe.

She didn’t seem to know much English. It was a little difficult to understand. But she was clearly asking for help. She had some school papers. I don’t know exactly what they were. But she told us she didn’t have enough money to send her children to school.

She kept asking for help. We prayed for her. She wept. She got on her knees on the sidewalk. And after we got her phone number. She called us Sisi, which means sister in SiSwati. I can’t explain why, but I completely believed her with my whole heart. I felt called to do something.

So I told our ministry contact, Xolani, about it and asked him to call her to figure out more information.

After he called, he told me she sounded very desperate. He also found out she has 5 kids. She can afford to pay the primary school fees for the 2 younger ones, but she cannot afford to pay the school fees for the 3 older ones.

I couldn’t believe when he told me how much it would cost to send only 3 people to school for the year. It’s 15,500 rand, which is $1,397. It is astonishing that school fees cost so much in a country where many people are experiencing poverty and financial difficulties. I felt so burdened for Bongiwe and her family and for all the people in the same situation. And I also felt overwhelmed. I don’t have anywhere near $1,400.

I was frustrated, because I felt I was called to a situation I was unable to fix. But then I remembered I am not alone. The Living God is Jehovah Jireh, Our Provider. I am trusting Jesus.

And I am asking for your help. See school starts January 27th, and school fees need to be paid before then. So we only have a few days to raise $1,400 and pay the fees. I realize it’s quite the chunk of change to raise in such a short amount of time. But I did some math, and I found out that if all 38 people on the squad are able to raise just $37 we would be able to pay the school fees in full. My goal is to raise more than this, because I know some people on the squad may not be able to share about this or raise/give money. So please join me in sharing about this, praying, and giving money.

If you are interested in giving, talk to my mom, Dreama Buck Pritt, or message her on Facebook. The last day to give is January 25th, because we have to pay the fees on January 26th.

Thank you so much. Much love!
