Kim, and I decided to make the trek to the summit of Mt. Dajt. From the moment I landed in Tirana a few
weeks I knew I wanted to summit Dajt, even if I just did it myself. So Sunday morning we all set out to conquer
Dajt.

and I went on a recognizance mission to see if it would be possible to camp out
on the mountain, so we knew what the mountain was like. When we got back we told the girls the hike
would be hard, not really knowing how hard it would actually be. But we were all game for the hike and agreed
to summit the mountain regardless of how hard it would actually be.

house for the mountain but getting there was an adventure in itself. First we took a bus from our house into
town. We then walked across town to a
different bus that we took to a different part of town closer to the
mountain. From there we got in a van that
took us to the base of the gondola lift. We took the gondola up to about half way up the mountain then a car ride
to where the general trail was. We
finally started the hike about 3 hours after we left the house.

hike I have ever been on, but I’m pretty sure we made it to the top in record
time- we were flying. We hiked across
rocks and small cliffs, through grass fields on the mountain, through dense
forest, and across ridges. The first
half of the mountain was pretty steep but not even close to how steep the last
half was. It seemed like it was almost
vertical at times. It was so steep that
we turned the mountain into a slide when we were going down. The last part of the hike was about a 20 foot
rock wall that I had to climb.

made it to the summit and it was so worth it. It was beautiful. A little glimpse
of Heaven on Earth. I felt like I was on
the top of the world and it was so steep that at any moment I could slide back
down to Tirana.

bigger than I could have ever imagined. I’ve seen him use things that I thought were dumb or insignificant for
greatness this month. From passing out
cards at high schools to performing the Lifehouse skit…all used for greatness far
beyond anything that I could have ever imagined. In our 3 weeks here we have witnessed at
least 17 teenagers accepting Christ. 20
years ago all religion was banned and Albania was ranked the most closed
country in the world. Now transformation
is happening in Albania and it’s awesome to witness it.
