Hello!
Well, after a long airplane ride, we landed on the African continent where we will spend the next three months. It was surreal to walk through Nairobi’s passport control and down into baggage claim…just like last July, except this time I was with my world race team instead of eagerly searching for my dad on the other side.
It is so nice and cold here. I have loved wearing jeans and my TOMS all week. After four months of perpetual heat and sweat, it is so lovely to curl up under a blanket.
We have spent the past week debriefing, recuperating and enjoying time as a squad. I have really loved catching up with friends from other teams and hearing how God is working in their lives. It has been a huge blessing to spend time here at the backpackers’ hostel and I have really been blessed this debrief with great conversations, amazing friends and good truth and words spoken into my life.
I am so excited for the next three months here in Africa. It was last year in Kenya that God called me to the World Race (or rather, gave me the green light I had been praying for for three years to come on the race!), and God did an amazing work in my heart here last year. I know He has good things in store for our team and squad.
I don’t know exactly what ministry will look like, but I know God has a plan and it will be good. 🙂
Please be praying for safety, health and team unity, as well as fruitful ministry, good contacts and daily encounters with God in powerful ways.
Thank you! Blessings!!
PS-We are headed to Tanzania next month (July), and then Uganda (August), So excited to see what God has in store!
PPS-I have been dealing with a cold/cough all week. Please pray for supernatural healing, as I would love to be fully healthy before heading out into the great unknown of whatever comes tomorrow!
Also-not sure what internet access will look like, but know I will be storing up stories to share whenever I can.
