Yesterday, we went to a woman’s house. In Thai, her name sounded something like Go. Let’s call her Grace.

Grace has a smile that would light up a room. That is, it would have if we had met inside. Instead, we met outside her home, around a picnic table. We shared with her about the race, and then asked how we could pray.

She told us she desired her family to come to know Christ. She is the only Christian in her immediate family??”this is very typical in Thailand. (The trend seems to be either you are the only one, or your whole family is. But it starts with one devoted Christ follower). She asked us to pray for their harvest (they, like many Chanthaburians, have an orchard), for her son and husband to come to know the Lord, and for encouragement for her aunt (the only other Christian in her family).

She also asked us to pray for her. You can’t tell from the picture, but Grace can’t walk very well. Her feet are very swollen, and her back does not work correctly. We don’t know for sure, but Nicole, who has experience in the medical field, thinks she may have elephantitis.

Her deepest desire is to share God and evangelize to her neighborhood and her family. She wants to be healed so she can serve God better.

So we prayed. We prayed God would heal her, we pleaded for her family, we asked for complete healing for her heart, mind, soul and body. We prayed encouragement over her. And then when we were done, she had tears in her eyes.

As we stood around her, interceding on her behalf, Nicole spoke. She told Grace that God was already using her, to share with her family. With tears in both their eyes, she told Grace that God was working. She told Grace we would continue to pray for her. Then we said good bye, and trusted God would keep working.

Please pray for Grace. Pray God would use her. Pray God would shape her continuously to be conformed into His image. Pray for physical healing. Pray for her family, that they would come into the kingdom. Pray for her encouragement, for her heart, for her city, for her country. Please pray.
