When I was a child one of my favorite songs I loved to sing was
"Read your Bible, pray every day,
and you will grow, grow, grow.”
When I became a Christian my favorite song was
"Oh God, You are my God and I will ever praise You.
I will seek you in the morning and I will learn to walk in Your ways. And step by step You'll lead me.
And I will follow you all of my days."
As you can see the common denominator of those two songs is spend time with God and His Word will help you grow as Jesus leads your life. One of the many revelations God showed me on my recent 11 month journey was that I need to keep feeding my spirit the same way I feed my physical body. And the food that can keep my spirit alive is the Word of God. Romans 8:5 clearly states that my human nature will control me, if I'm not constantly renewing my mind with the Word of God and let the Spirit lead me instead. In other words, if the spirit is not leading me then my sinful human nature will grow and lead me. However, If I'm in the Word day and night like God suggested in Joshua 1:8 then my Spirit will grow and become stronger than my sinful nature.
With that I will share my announcement with you now. After I came back from the race I went to a seminar for a week that AIM (Adventures in Missions) hosted. While I was there I learned about an opportunity to do CGA (Center for Global Action) for 4 months with AIM. I will not do it justice if I tried to explain CGA to you but I will let the flyer do the talking.
“CGA is a launching pad dedicated to holistic development through community, discipleship, and apprenticeship.” This means "my time at CGA will be spent on fostering my dependence and intimacy with the Lord, understanding my identity based on God's Word, and empowering me to discover and start pursuing my dreams or call God has placed on my life." I chose to go on the World Race because I was watching my life pass me by with no idea of who I really am and why God created me. I came back knowing exactly who I am in Christ, no longer half in and half out. I am now in a covenant relationship with Christ. I want to continue to love Him and know Him more than anything in this world. All I want to do is follow His lead, surrender all of me, and every plan to Him. Toward the last two months of my trip the Lord gave me a heart for India and to go back to witness to the Muslims there. My long-term dream is to move to India and just love on the people there. And someday open an orphanage where the Lord wants.
By doing CGA I will be mentored under many missionaries while working in the long-term missions department and also the Kingdom Dreams department, learning how to start my own orphanage. The cost per month for all CGA apprentices is $600. So, I need to raise a total of $2,400 for the four months. I must have at least two months support in my account before I start in September. From the money I raise I will receive a stipend of $200 per month to cover food and gas. I know most of you have given and helped me raise support for the World Race and for that I am grateful. By supporting me in this next journey God is leading me on, you are not doing it for me. But you are advancing the kingdom of God by giving me the opportunity to be discipled so I can continue to witness to and love on God's people. If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch with me through email [email protected]. The program starts September 13, 2013 and lasts until the end of December. The location will be at AIM headquarter in Gainesville, GA.
