It is now Wednesday and it has been 3 days since we
have seen our main contact, so we have spent a majority of our time either
sitting in the house or at a coffee shop in the city center.
On Tuesday we
set out with a translator to find an orphanage that we were told was nearby. Once
we got there we saw that it wasn’t actually an orphanage, but rather a Catholic
vocational school for orphans. So we met with the director and ended up setting
up a time that we could go and play games with the students there, which are
between the ages of 7 and 30.

So Thursday afternoon we went back to the school ready
to play some games. We didn’t end up playing any games, instead they put on a
little show for us where the boys did acrobatics, drumming, and traditional
dancing. It was all really good and fun to watch, but not exactly what I was
expecting would happen on this sunny afternoon

That night our Pastor came back from Uganda and our
team leader sat down with him to try and figure out what he wanted us to do for
the rest of the month.

Now it is Friday and we actually have plans to go out
and do something this morning. The first place we ended up at was a home for
handicapped children where we were given a tour and had a chance to talk with a
few of them for a short time.

Then we walked down the street a ways to an orphanage
where we were greeted by tons of adorable, really young kids. Here we were able
to just sit and spend some time with the kids, which were so much fun and such
a great blessing. Tomorrow we are supposed to go back and play games with all
of them, which should be a lot of fun.

We didn’t go back to the orphanage today, instead we
moved out and are now staying with another team still in the city of Kigali.
Our leaders thought it would be in our best interest if we didn’t stay where we
were any longer. We all felt uncomfortable there and our spirits were very
unsettled, so we followed what we felt the spirit was saying to us and left.

As of right now I have no idea what the rest of the
month is going to look like, but I’m hoping that involves us going back to that
orphanage. J
