So The World Race is asking me to write what my expectations are going to be for this trip. Hmm I’m not really sure.
After taking
several personality tests throughout my college career I have
learned that I am a Doer and an Adventurer. What this means is that I don’t think I just do, in all cases.
I just happened to stumble upon The World Race website thanks to my friend Connie and the very first day I visited it I also applied. I do things like this often stumble upon new hobbies, websites, job opportunities etc., I then apply for whatever it may be or begin a new hobby, such as rock climbing (which is not an easy thing to do in Kansas). So because I do these things often I have to fully trust in God that he will open and close all the right doors in my life. When I’m not accepted into something or when rock climbing in Kansas didn’t work out I know that this was not the right thing for me, this is not where God wants me right now. But when doors begin to open up and things start coming together I believe this is where God is leading me. I don’t believe that is was just a coincidence that on the very same day that I got accepted into The World Race I also got this amazingly cheap apartment which I wasn’t really even looking for. I believe it was all God moving things around making things happen so that I can go where he wants me to go. Which, I feel right now that he is leading me towards The World Race.
I must admit that I’m extremely terrified that I won’t be able to raise the money, I’ve honestly never been more freaked out in my entire life, but I just trust and believe that God will provide if it’s meant to be. I also don’t think that God would me such a deep passion to go on this trip if he wasn’t going to provide.
So with all of that being said my expectations are not much. I’m not really thinking ahead to what it’s going to be like I’m just trying to concentrate right now on raising the money. So I expect for God to move me and change me in a way that I didn’t know was possible. I expect that God will move the entire team, that we will not only grow as individuals, but grow together as a team. I’m extremely excited for when training camp comes and I can finally meet everyone and I’m excited to see how each and everyone of you are going to impact my life while I am embarking on this wonderful journey for God.
