My team and I spent month 10 of The World Race in Kuala Krai, Malaysia. Malaysia is a strict Muslim nation.
It is against the law to preach the gospel to Malays and, we ain't trying to get arrested, so we spent the majority of our time working with the Indian population and Chinese population of Malaysia.
We were invited to the Indian and Chinese churches weekly gatherings and events where we joined in fellowship, preached sermons, shared stories and testimonies, and sang worship songs. We led children's time where we acted out bible stories (David and Goliath is always a favorite,) taught bible songs, played games and ate delicious Chinese food for lunch! We got to do some community service projects, hand out gigantic bags of rice to poor families, and nutritional supplements for needy and sick children. We tutored English several days a week. And did kids camp in a village where we did more bible stories, songs and a lot of sports. We also did manual labor and construction several days a week. We got up bright and early well before the sun and heat came. We were helping to build a church that would be used for community outreach projects as well. There was a lot of digging involved, some weeding, cement mixing and molding and pipe placing. But if anyone were to ask, we were 'visitors' helping to build a 'bungalow' 😉
On the weekends we would make day trips to further away towns or villages and preach in their churches and spread the Good News! We also did home visits in a nearby Indian village.
At the end of the month we were super blessed to be able to escape to Pangkor Island for 2 days and rest, relax, recoup and spend some intimate time in worship on the beach!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the month and please enjoy the video at the end too! The song is called "Movements" by The Rend Collective Experiment, check them out! God bless!
