Last Saturday marked the turning point in my life I Graduated from the university of Central Arkansas with my bachelors in business management. I am exceedingly glad that I have completed this part of my life mission and can not wait to see where it will take me next with the race. Also this last weekend I spent a few days backpacking with my dad, brother and best friend in this beautiful state we live in. Pictures are coming but it is truly beyond words as to what this trip was like so awesome to get to see up close what God's creation looks like.
I am so blessed to have a dad who enjoys these outdoor adventures and can not wait to see what other adventures are in store for future backpacking trips.Their truly is something special about carrying all you need on your back and living a life free of extra baggage. This brings me to a great illustration my dear brother brought a 3 lb book of the Completed Adventures of Sherlock Homes with him this is obviously not a needed item and by the last day his pack was a lot heavier then the rest of ours which can really be a heavy burden when you are so physically tired. This is a great example of what is considered as extra physical or even mental baggage can do to someone when they have to carry it with them just like Christian in the Pilgrims Progress it will only slow you down we must carry what is only absolutely necessary.
This is a great lesson for me as well when I leave September 1st we are only allowed a frame pack and a regular backpack that can be put on our back and front to be easily carried the entire race. I have to live with 11 months worth of cloths on my back I feel this will be a true test of faith.
