At church in one of the villages this month we were asked to pray over a lady named Ambika. Our contact, Reuben explained that this 30 year old lady had been married, but that her husband and his family had abused and tortured her. She is a Christian but now she’s being oppressed by evil spirits and her mind is not right because of the trauma from her family. She now lives with her mother and they both love God.
While we were singing praises that day, Ambika couldn’t stop dry heaving, she would scream out Hallelujah and cry, but it was so painful sounding. So we prayed for her after church to be healed and released from the pain of her past. The next day she came to our home and invited us for tea. We all agreed that we wanted to pray for her again and this would be the perfect time. Later that day our team went over to her home, which was basically just a few boards nailed together on the side of the river with a bed and a place set up for cooking. Her, her mother and her daughter all lived in this one room shack. We prayed for her, and we all felt like God wanted her to say things out loud. We wanted her to declare that she was healed, that she only served Jesus Christ and that He is her only King. We tell the translator to get her to repeat us. “Jesus is the only King of my life!” She opens her mouth to say it, but no words come. She literally cannot say the name of Jesus. And she keeps trying to say it out loud, but Satan had a hold of her voice. But “He that is in you is greater than He that is in the world” and we prayed fervently for God to release her tongue. After about 10 minutes of praying for her, she said it BOLDLY! We all cheered and she was beaming that she could say Jesus’ name.
She even followed us to the next village and helped us stir cement. She was a beast at mixing the cement! J Many other times we prayed over Ambika’s total deliverance from the pain that it causing her mind to be taken. Please pray for this beautiful lady and her family. She is just a direct example to me of how God WORKS in people and in situations. And Jesus loves her so much. So do I.
