It is now my third month on the race, and my team and I are in Thailand. My journey so far has been one of struggle, healing, and growth. God has taught me how to love, trust, and seek in ways that I have never experienced before. I have seen His kingdom in some pretty unexpected places and met His followers in a world far apart from my own. I have served and been served in ways that have redefined my understanding of selflessness. I have been given a new identity, a new Father, and a new family. And in return, I have given up myself.
My journey started, however, before training camp, before launch, and way before India. My journey began when I decided to take the first step and sign up for the race. After sending out support letters, making phone calls, and meeting with possible supporters, I began to see the amazing ways that God, and His people, can make what seems impossible a reality.
It was through this process of learning to trust that God will provide that I was taught my first lessons on the race. It prepared me to go to India, Nepal, and now Thailand, knowing that if we choose to follow Him and have faith, God will do amazing things. I have not only seen miraculous healing in the villages we have gone to, but I have also seen healing in the lives of each person on my team. I have seen how God has impacted not only me and my team, but also my family and friends back home through my experience on the race so far.
God has an interesting way in which He calls us into growth. My journey so far has shown me that God is more complex and loving than I could have ever previously imagined. I believe over the next nine months that He is going to continue to reveal to me who I am and who He has called me to be. I look forward to not only sharing this journey with my team and my family, but with everyone who has supported me and followed my story so far.
However, to continue this journey, I must reach my next financial deadline. I must raise 1,500 dollars by October 1st. I have been continually amazed by the outpouring of love and support, often from individuals I have known only briefly, throughout my journey on The World Race. I am now asking again for both spiritual and financial support through prayers and donations, as I approach my next deadline. God has called me to go to places I could never imagine, and He is calling you to take part in the journey as well.
Thank you for reading and following my story so far, I look forward to the next nine months. If you feel led to support me you can do so by clicking the “support me” link on the left side of this page, or you can email me directly. If you have any question about support or The Race in general, feel free to email me or leave a comment. Thanks again.
