Update
I wanted to give a little update about where we are in the world and where we are going next.
We left Phuket last Sunday and headed to Bangkok to meet up with the rest of our squad as well as squads A, B &D for debrief. Thursday we said goodbye to squads A & B and headed to Cambodia with squad D, who just joined us on the field this September.
Two buses, a customs office, traveling on very, very bumpy Cambodian roads, and 14 hours later we arrived in Phnom Penh late Thursday night. The last two days have been spent in briefing on Cambodian culture as well as seeing parts of the city, such as temples and museums to lean more about the Cambodian people.
Today we had the day off, I was upstairs this afternoon reading and I heard a familiar tune. The sounds of a chorus of children singing Oh LA LA (a children’s favorite in every country). I looked out the window onto the street below to see a bunch of our World Race guys leading about 20 plus random neighborhood kids in songs and games. You can take the World Racer out of the camp, but you sure can’t take the camp out of the World Racer.
Whew — I know lots of running around! Just thought you might be interested in what this week looked like.
Some teams are staying in Phenon Penh, some are going to Siem Riep, and others are going to Battambang. Our team, along with two others will be leaving for Battambang tomorrow morning. My team will be in the city working with the University of the Nations. I am excited to see how the next couple of weeks go!
Also I want to thank everyone who has contributed to my support! I have received — in the last couple weeks, which enables me to stay on the field until mid – November. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support.
