The Bangkok race was done a bit differently than the one in Johannesburg. Instead of everyone going to the same places and completing the same tasks at the same time, they gave us a list of check points that we needed to fulfill and we had to first of all locate where they were and then decide which order would be the most time efficient. This way was fun because we did not really know how the other teams were fairing compared to us. Except for one part of the day when we all ran into each other in a mall in which we had to take pictures in front of different famous stores. I think at one point every team used the same poor unsuspecting man to take a picture of them in front of the sign. I also angered a policeman in the mall, apparently you are not supposed to film government official types. Fortunately he let me get away with an apology and a sheepish grin.

Gina, myself, Beth, and Casey in a park in Bangkok. Just hanging out with the duckies:

Us on the metro. Many Thai wear yellow on mondays out of respect for the King.

We started out at the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base in Bangkok (where we had been staying the last two days). The race took us all over the city from getting into giant floating ducks at a park, going to a temple, to the night market. We got a taste for the city as well as were very appreciative that the metro was air-conditioned, as it is quite hot and humid. I am not complaining though, I am very happy to ditch the mittens and hats that we wearing in South Africa!

Yet again our team was doing great, but a simple task put us behind again. We needed to take a picture in a photo booth, and thinking that all malls would have them we thought we would kill two birds with one stone and find one at the mall, which we had to complete some other tasks at. After looking all over the mall for an hour and confusing some poor Thai people, one hour later we still found ourselves without a photo booth picture! Thus putting us very behind, so we cut our losses and proceeded on with the race. We were the last team to arrive at the night bizarre. All in all it was a fun day and a great way to see Bangkok.
