Lets go!

Tomorrow we start our fist day of ministry!

I am very excited to get in there as we have mainly just been in training

We are working in a camp this week in S. Africa. Refilwe, the community center which we are staying, serves over

50k
in the area. They primarily work with foster kids and

AIDS orphans as well as do community development and investment. We are going to be running a camp for them this next week. The people they
usually have come in and help run the camp fell though. So to have so many of us here (27) when they did not know where the man power was going to come from is a total answer to prayers. I am

sooooo
excited!! All the programs and work this place is doing is truly amazing, and the fact that it is mainly run by volunteers shows how much the locals believe in the work they are doing. If you want to know more about Refilwe as well as ways you can help check out their web site

It is encouraging to hear about what is going on at this place and the lives that are being impacted – with so much
despair it is good to be a place that is bringing hope. Actually that is what

Refilwe
means, hope.

These kids are so beautiful and amazing – my heart is already gone. It is so sad to hear how

AIDS is destroying this country. This generation is
completely getting wiped out. Even sadder still is the fact that it is

mainly due to a lack of education. The only hope is to educate and invest in the children. (I know I know it sounds cliché and you feel a Michael Jackson song

coming
on — but it so true) There are 1.1 million

AIDS orphans in S. Africa. It breaks my heart – not only for there lives but for the next generation.

80k
families in S Africa have kids as the head of their house hold due to their parents

dying

of

AIDS
. One kid at a time – one at a time. What an overwhelming problem. What a
privilege to try to be a part of the solution.

Tonight was spent with the 27 of us in worship and prayer. While in prayer several people spoke out and challenged us. When we pray do we really believe what we are praying is going to come to be? Do we believe Jesus words in Matthew when He says He will give us anything if we ask it in His name? It is time to stop asking and start walking forward in faith that these things will come to pass.

Matthew 7:7-9

7“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

9“Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
