//Be in love with your life// Jack Kerouac
I came across these words recently, ones that I’ve written in a journal full of similarly inspirational words and scriptures to encourage and uplift and inspire whenever I need something to remind me of all my blessings.
It has really spoken to me recently.
Lately…
I’ve fallen into the trap of wishing I was somewhere else. Dreaming ahead to the future when I’ll be traipsing across the world spreading the gospel and advancing the kingdom.
And that’s not bad.
Anticipation is good.
Excitement is good.
But wishing your life away is not.

I’ve realized that I have not been ‘here and present’ in my present.
I think that I have forgotten to be in love with my life.
In love with my location, the people around me, the small things in life.
I have a good life.
A great life.
A blessed life.
But sometimes the daily tasks, errands, homework, lists, and worries distract me.
And I begin to forget, or choose not, to see the good and lovely things in those tasks, errands, homework, and lists.
How easily I forget to love.
…To love where I am.
And there are so many things to love!
So for now on, I will not look past them so easily.
I wont forget to be in love with my life because I am in love with Jesus, and He has given me a good life!!
I will focus my gaze on Him because He is my vision. I will let none of those things distract me from the truth.
He is taking me on an adventure now, where I am–I don’t have to wait.
I don’t have to wish my present away, longing for the future.
He is my now and so I will love my now with all my heart
This year and always, I want to be present before God, so I can focus on Him, His calling and His plan for me–now. I want to be present in His presence.
I encourage you, no matter how exciting the future seems, and how not exciting the present may seem—be all there. Love where you are.
The Lord will use you no matter if you are wandering the campus at university, wandering the halls of your office, or wandering the mountains of Nepal.
The Lord has purposefully made us for such a time as this. We have a purpose NOW. Not just in the future.
Esther 4:14
And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?
Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God”
-Jim Elliot
Anyway, those are just some thoughts 🙂
Nothing else satisfies, only You, Lord
You are my best thought by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Your presence, my light…
I don’t want riches or man’s empty praise
You’re my inheritance, now and always
You and You only, the first in my heart
High king of heaven, my treasure You are
…
