So there I am, on both my knees before Jesus as He is in His royal court.  Robed in excellence, Jesus looks down to me with a huge grin and declares into me a new season.  He no longer wants me to use the weapons of this world, instead He is calling me to be a warrior for peace, using heavenly weapons.  It is an amazing scene as he bestows this honor upon me, but what does it all mean?

I received this vision during a recent corporate worship session.  For a few months now, God has been changing me into a man of peace.  Now He is calling me to be a warrior for peace; A warrior that chooses his battles with wisdom and fights against injustices.  My weapons are faith, hope, love, peace, compassion, and grace.  This world is not equipped to defend themselves with these weapons, so in this battle I fight from victory.  The results of my battles are peaceful, bringing life and not death.  This is counter-cultural, but so is Jesus.

Battle #1
So our team got off a 4 hour train ride uncertain where we would be spending the night since there were no trains heading into our town.  We stop by a local eatery to have some semblance of a dinner.  While in line I heard a commotion.  There was a homeless man begging for food and cussing up a storm to the girls we were with and Luke.  By the looks of their faces this situation was becoming increasingly uncomfortable.  Then it happened.

God gave me a word for this man, the word was Peace

I walked up to the man and introduced myself, his name is also Gabriel.  He was describing to me in perfect English how he has been punched, spit on, and yelled at all day for begging and how much he hates Romania and wants the world to die.  Strong words for sure.  So I struck up a convo with him about life and God.

Gabriel: What should I do with my life?
Me: Where is your father?
Gabriel: My father abandoned me as a child.
Me: Your earthly father has, but I speak of your Heavenly Father.

I proceeded to share with Gabriel the parable of the prodigal son, in which he saw his own “pig pen” were the streets of Romania.
Throughout the rest of the convo, Gabriel asks me what he should do for money then?  As he asks another homeless man approached speaking Romanian.  Obviously I didn’t understand a word he said, however Gabriel began to translate what was being said.  In that I declared over Gabriel that he has a gift of tongues and should become a translator English/Romanian.  In that his eyes lit up and the prospectus of a new hope in life.  Was this Jesus thing becoming more real?

As we parted ways, I prayed over him and declared peace over this man and called out all the lies that this man was shameful, disgusting, a loser, worthless.  Instead he is a child of God, with an inheritance to heavenly treasures stored in God’s kingdom

This is a man I met Gabriel…blog to follow…pray for him and for the holy spirit to come into him #gsquadwr #prayer

This man encountered the love of Jesus in a new way that day.  He went from a belligerent homeless man looking for a fight to a new creation of God, entering the kingdom of Heaven.

These weapons are going to take some time to get used to, but man I’m psyched to use them.
All for His glory!
