Abraham prayed for a child. God made a covenant with Abraham, telling him he was going to be the father of a multitude of nations. Abraham only had one son at this time. One who wasn’t even the child of his wife, Sarah. He continued to pray but mainly Sarah became doubtful. Many nations was what was promised to Abraham – yet at 90 years old you can see where hope could have been lost. But Isaac was born. Sarah born Abraham one child. And the same child God blessed him with was the same child God asked him to sacrifice.

OBEDIENCE.

If you finish the story, you’ll come to see that God provided a ram to take the place of Isaac. God just asked Abraham to sacrifice his son. It seems so crazy for God to ask Abraham if he was willing to give up the one he loved.

But God asks us to obedient all the time.

This month it was a hard lesson when he was just seeing if we were willing. Because it was something we we’re actually excited and passionate about.

God gave us a dream, he asked us to raise money and go into a brothel! He asked us to buy the time of the women. He asked us if we believed in Him to be able to stop it all in one day. Did we believe that our God could still make the walls of Jericho fall? Could we, 7 girls, raise enough money in 4 days to go into the largest brothel in Central America and buy the time of every girl for one hour? Did we believe that if we had a meeting with the two owners that they would see who God was? Did we believe that God melts the heart of stone?

Honestly.
Maybe I didn’t.
Maybe that’s why he asked me.

That’s why he said “Gabby please, I want to use you but you have to believe” because God can and I know that! But did I truly know it? Because if He truly can then he CAN use me.

Passion for a ministry that I have never had before. We started praying and believing! We got excited! Do you know what it’s like to be excited for the Lord?! Like you just know something BIG is about to happen?! It was amazing!

But then the Lord asked us to not go. Confused, but I know why I was asked. I was asked to dream again for the Lord! We were asked to go, this time it wasn’t to actually do anything. He asked to see our obedience, He asked to reignite a passion. Look what He is capable of doing! And something BIG is about to happen so be ready. Listen to Him for yourself because you never know what He might ask you to do!
