Okay so I’m sure most of you assume a mission trip to Africa consist of me riding elephants to my ministry, which is probably in the middle of the safari, where I see about 10 lions chase down a pack of zebras. Then once we get there we save all the orphan children!
.
Well it’s nothing like that, AT ALL!! There aren’t lions just prowling around ( this isn’t The Lion King) and ministry this month is us working at a youth center. Which is where youth kids in the community (who have families) come during the school year so they are closer to there school. Well behaved and fun kids who are all so different they study for hours to past a huge test they have coming up in November( so keep them in your prayers). Kids who love to dance, sing, and be teenagers. We have also been going to the schools during day and doing whatever is need for example we washed chairs one day, swept and mopped, helped pass out lunch, and today I was able to sub and teach English to 92 kids. We also do door to door ministry on Saturday mornings.
.
I have really enjoyed getting to know the girls in the house. I love that know matter where you are whether you are in South Africa, America, The Netherlands, Lesotho, Belize, or wherever you are we all have the same struggles. Being a Human is hard sometimes, we compare ourselves so much to others. Like I want darker skin and she wants smooth hair, I wish my eyes didn’t look so flat, I wish I was stronger or taller or slimmer. We have to start walking in truth about ourselves and stop comparing. We have to know that we are ALL created by God. That he knitted each and every one of us in our mothers womb that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. That he knows the plans he has for us plans to prosper us not harm us plans for a hope and a future. We have to know that our God delights in us and that He loves us! So that way when life sucks, God is still good!
