Hope House is one of the best visions in this day and age. I wish this type of thing actually happened in America. At Hope House you are welcomed with open arms. Hope House’s vision is to serve those who are severally sick with the most high care and love possible. Each person is in their own house with a caregiver or loved one to provide for them. They provide for the mental, physical, and most importantly spiritual needs. Each of these people have been a true blessing to me. They welcome children to the elderly providing the best for each of them. I’ve had the honor and pleasure of spending time with many of the patients. Today I just want to share a few stories about my sweet friends and the amazing love I have for each of them.

This child is what I call heaven sent. His smile is beyond any words could describe or any picture to ever capture. He is 6 years old and is fighting one of the hardest battles Swazi’s face. He is positive as many children are, but because of this sickness it has created many strokes. He is now paralyzed completely on one side of his body and partially on the other. He has lost sight in one eye completely and he has started to receive brain damage. Sandy is so much more than that though. He is handsome and kind. He laughs at everything I say and just plays with me as much as he can. He lets me make silly noises and just act like a kid. He is my friend. He brings me so much joy each day. He even holds my hands as I am honored to pray over him each day. He is angel on earth, sent just to show me a new form of Gods amazing love. Each day I get to spend with him is just like hanging out with Jesus. It is just that peaceful and humbling. Sandy’s caregiver is also one beautiful lady. I not only get to spend time with Sandy but also Penny. She is a widow raising 3 children. However the youngest is 12 years old and is living alone while she is living with Sandy now. This is the only job she can have right now to provide for her family through this her son must live alone. Her husband past away and a year later she was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, God is good and she is in remission. Although she has faced much hardship she turns to the Lord. Each day we talk about blessings and needs and she always asks me to pray with them and for them! No matter how long my days are God still shows me his love in the most simple forms.
Phiwayinkosi is just one of my favorite 6 month olds ever. He has captured my heart. Each day I get to see him my heart is warmed. His cute little baby talk and giggle is just about the cutest thing out there. His mom works at Hope House to serve one of the patients. Thankfully they allowed Phiway to live with them. Thankfully God allowed me to meet them all. Phiway was born with an abnormal face but since its Africa they don’t always have the best medical help. They aren’t sure what caused it but thankfully they are taking amazing care of him and have a plan of different surgeries ever few months. He is well taken care of and extremely loved. This little friend has stolen a piece of my heart that I never want back. I adore him and I hope you do too. He has many surgeries ahead so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Here is a picture of the surgery I was able to be apart of. The results are beautiful.

When I think of wisdom I think of my new friends Wilson and Constance. I call him wise Wilson because the man knows everything. Each afternoon I spend with him and his wife I learn new things about the bible. The couple are true followers and dig deep into the scripture. Being able to sit with them is an honor. He reminds me of my grandpa (Poppee) and I love it. Its a piece of home I’ve needed for a long time. When I step in their home I feel at home. I find peace and comfort. I know Jesus is always sitting right there with us. It is incredible. When its time to go its never good-bye or even see you later. It’s a prayer together, share of love, and a “safe travels” and “God bless”. Now that is what the body of Christ is like. A big family enjoying talking about the Fathers love for us. What a joy to have these friends and family in Christ.
God is Good.
