So here I am trying to think of what to write.
My mind has been all over the place these past few weeks with getting prepared for my trip.
I have been sitting down for hours in my garage this past week selling everything my family & I don’t use anymore.
For those who know me , I sometimes need alone time to recharge my batteries but I am learning that I won’t always be able to have those alone times & WELL! That’s okay. I’m learning to be comfortably uncomfortable. So much has been going on all at the same time but even through the chaos I’ve seen God through the little simple things.
Through my moms smiles & hugs, through little sweet chats with my neighbors, through nature…etc
God IS everywhere.
It’s just up to us to take some time & realize that truth.
This past Monday, around 5:00 pm I had just come in from my garage sale, went straight to my room..jumped on my bed..got comfortable & opened up my laptop to check in on my fundraising.
Few minutes later , my phone begins to ring from an unknown number.
Faith Facts: I NEVER ANSWER UNKNOWN NUMBERS.NEVER.
Why? I don’t know, I guess it’s a bit intimidating for an introvert like me.
I wait on a voicemail & return the call if it’s important.
As it rang , I intensely stared at my phone.
Immediately. I sensed God’s still small voice say to me “Answer it” & I was like “ugh Okaay Lord.”
Yes, the *ugh* came out, I was stepping out of my comfort zone! tahaa >.<
So I answer it.
Me: “Hello”
Lady: “Hi is Joe Grasso (Stepdad) there?”
Me: Yes, Hold on.
*Walk to living room and hand stepdad the phone*
Stepdad: “Hello”
Lady: “bla bla bla..* (Whatever she said)
Stepdad: “Oh Faith! they want to talk to you, it’s Gainesville Times.”
*He hands me the phone*
Me: “Hey”
Lady: “Sorry, I had asked for your Step dad because his name was on the payment he had made for the ad about your garage sale”.
Me: “That’s fine!”
Lady: “When I saw that you mentioned that you were going to an 11 month mission trip I knew immediately that it was the World Race!”
Me: “Awesome! That’s right!”
Lady: “Well two years ago I wrote a story on two guys who also went on the World Race, Sooo I would like to ask, Would you allow me to write your story on Gainesville Times?”
Me: *Speechless*Speechless*Speechless*
“Uh Yes!! Of course!
– So that’s exciting! I will be meeting with them sometime next week. All I can do is thank God for every opportunity He brings my way.
I found myself struggling these two past weeks on trusting God with EVERYTHING.
I would constantly be fighting with my thoughts back & forth.
But I’ve made a decision to fight those battles & not allow the enemy to make me believe in his stinky lies.
I am here to tell you..
If God has called you to do something, Know that it will come to pass.
HE WILL ALWAYS make a way for you to do His will.
HE WILL PROVIDE the right paths & right people to come your way.
He’s simply waiting on us to do our part.
God is not only wanting you to work for Him, He wants to work WITH you!
Remember, that there’s ALWAYS a way.
That’s just where Faith comes in.
To believe without seeing.
One thing I’ve been learning and realizing its truth,
is that..
There is truly power in our words and thoughts.
The more we say and think *I Can’t , there’s no way, I’ll Never*…etc
That’s EXACTLY what you’ll get! Whatever you declare is what will keep on happening.
Now,
here’s the good news!
When we change our mindset and our words
Believing & Declaring good,beautiful, & epic things
Awesome opportunities will indeed come our way.
& you’ll be like “WOWZA! How God?!”
He’s still the same God of the impossible my dear.
God hears and sees our good thoughts and words.
Once He sees that we’re believing and trusting Him, Walking by faith..
Through our faith that’s when He will do His part.
I reminded myself of all this- this very morning!
Many have forgotten the importance of this topic.
The Power Of Right Thinking.
As you know, the creepy dude called the Devil is out to attack and destroy us, & guess what!
He attacks our minds before anything!
It definitely needs to be a constant reminder. Right thinking definitely works! *Heck! the bible mentions it many times.
(Matthew 15:11)-“What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
(Luke 6:45)-“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.”
(1 Peter 1:13)-Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
(Philippians 4:8)-Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
& many more.
Every time I wake up complaining or think low yucky thoughts & remain with that mindset..
Things just get worse & worse. Even random little irritable things come to pass that I never saw coming.
*Like a bird flying by, pooping all over you, thinking your a naked cupcake that needs a bit of frosting*
Now, The days I wake up thanking God & Make a choice to have positive thoughts..
When I choose to Believe in the things that have not yet come to pass.
When hard situations drastically appear- I am filled up with God’s peace & able to place the situation in His hands trusting that He knows best.
The day truly becomes a more blessed & speechless day & you’re even able to laugh about a bird randomly pooping on you… (OK, Maybe not really).. BUT hey it’s possible! you can choose to not get angry about it 🙂
I encourage that we all see the importance of our thoughts and words.
The bible’s a wonderful book but I’ve learned that it’s not enough to simply be fat off of the word of God – at some point, we have to take what we’ve learned and APPLY it to our life.
Yes, we will have hard and annoying moments but lets not allow it to defeat us. OTAY ? 🙂
Well! Lots of love to all you peeps!
God loves you like crazy,
Faith Lynn
