In the afternoon, we ran a “futbol” club for local kids. We would walk to a field about 20 minutes away and as we walked, kids would run out of their houses, grab our hands and walk with us. 

Once we got there we did stretching, drills, games and at the end we sang songs and shared a bible study (sometimes even acting them out like in the last photo on this blog). This ministry was so valuable because we were able to spend time showing these kids God’s love for them. We got to show them that even though they may not own a pair of shoes that they can find true joy in the love of the Father. One of my favorite things during this time was to sit on the sidelines with the girls who didn’t feel like they could play futbol. I heard their stories and their pain. I got to share Christ with them in words and in actions (like by allowing them to braid my hair even though it was painful). Below are some pictures of our time doing futbol ministry:
