“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying “Whom shall I send? And whom shall go for us?” and I said “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
I am going back and I couldn’t be happier! Most of you know that the Lord completely stole my heart while I was abroad. If you’ve been following my blogs you know the exact moment that I was called into long term international missions. Month three of the Race, in Macedonia, my hearts desires completely shifted. The devil didn’t want me to step foot into the orphanage we were volunteering with (more on my three part blog series: first one here), but the Lord is faithful – and it was there I felt called
Long term, I want to make sure all the orphans in Macedonia are cared for, nurtured, and fed. With my background in Social Work, I could see the attachment disorders in play and forming. It was the children’s needs that initially ignited my heart, and now I feel so much love and passion for those children. I can no longer see myself living in America long term while working in the Social Work system. God opened my eyes to His children in Macedonia, and He broke my heart for them. This may sound like a big dream, but I know that with Christ, all things are possible.
All that being said, I am going back to Eastern Europe in January! The cheapest flights I could find fly into Belgrade Serbia, which is close to Novi Sad where I spent my first month on the Race! I have contacted Novi Sad Christian Fellowship Church and i’ll be able to stay with them again. I will be helping with their winter kids camp while I am there, and also reconnecting with the congregation.
After my first week, I am going to take a train to Macedonia and spend 4-5 weeks there. I will be hosted by The Evangelical Church of Bitola, which I worked with on the Race. While i’m there I am hoping to be able to research more about the orphan care system, reconnect with people I befriended, make new ministry connections, and hopefully get a clearer vision for my future missions work there.
Lastly, I will take a bus to Albania and then a ferry to Corfu, Greece to reconnect with my World Race Coaches. They supported me during my entire World Race Journey, and am so grateful that they are willing to continue giving me wise council as I embark on this new adventure as well! I am so excited to spend my last week debriefing with them and soaking up their joyous presence and knowledge.
In order to accomplish all I listed above, I need support.
I would love it if you would consider being a prayer partner. If you feel led, email me and i’ll add you to my prayer team!
Thank you so much for reading and God Bless,
Faith Destiny Craver
