I am on the field! I think it has finally sunk in. It is about 9:30pm here in Novi Sad, Serbia. My team and I are finally winding down. I am sitting on the church’s balcony with the street light dimly supplying me with the needed rays to journal and blog. I can smell the fumes from the cars, and hear the rumbling of their engine as they pass. The occasional horn blaring, and dog barking in the background. What I love the most in this moment is the wind brushing my hair across my face, and the sound of the beautiful Serbian dialect underneath me as people walk a long the street.

Leading up to this month, I was told I was going to be working with the Fokus Ministry rehabilitation center here in Serbia. Well, turns out that the World Race is full of surprises, and God loves seeing how flexible you can be for Him.

After our meeting with our ministry host Dusan on Friday – my team and I realized that this month is going to look a lot differently than we expected.

Firstly, our host is a man of many hats – he does the youth ministry, preaches, helps out with refugees and the rehabilitation center! So, he didn’t create a ministry schedule for us. He did inform us of some ministry he would like us to do, and then he asked us to create the schedule.

Turns out the ministries he had in mind were more so: Women’s Art Therapy, Teaching Conversational English, Youth Ministry, helping with skits on Sunday’s in both services and the Children’s Ministry, and Refugee Relief… No rehabilitation center…

I was really excited about working with the rehab this month – but God had other plans, so I am finding enjoyment in the flexibility that I am being forced to have.

This has already been a very interesting month, and it is day six of the race!

After my team and I sat down to make the schedule today and we figured out how to pour ourselves into so many ministries – I feel a lot better about the change. I can take a deep sigh of relief, because I can truly rest tonight knowing the schedule of the days ahead.

I am being blessed with the opportunity to serve in a multitude of ways! Yes, it was unexpected. And yes, it wasn’t what I thought I wanted. BUT I know God is going to use this month to grow my team and I (especially since He already has!). I am looking forward to this journey of a month that lies ahead.

Prayer Request’s:
* All the different ministries we are going to be doing is month, that we can reach a lot of people and plan all of the details well!
* The serian refugees. The need is so big, and the church we are working with is spending a lot of their resources to serve and help.
* Our ministry hosts are so burnt out, but their hearts our so big they just keep serving. Prayers that we can be fueling them this month and lighten their burdens.
* God is alive in this church, be praying He reaches the community. Less than 1% of the people here are Christians.

* Also, even though I am on the field I am not done fundraising! So, prayers that God beautifully orchestrates the rest of my team and I’s funds, so that we can be fully focused on the ministry here in Serbia and not worrying about our next deadline.

Our next deadline is $13,000 on October 31st, I am only $952 away from that deadline! To be fully funded I need $4,219. If you feel led to donate just click the support me tab and it will walk you through the steps!

God is so good, He truly is. He comes through for His children, and when you listen to Him, He will open doors for you. I never thought it would be possible to raise $16,267 – but seeing the funds that have come in already has proven to me that with God anything is possible. If He is for you, no one and no thing (not even money!) can be against you.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for the prayers and support!
