Yesterday was a BIG DAY around here parts. It started
with the announcement of team changes.
We were each given a brightly colored card with the names of our new teammates
written on them.

As I sat with my card, slightly taken aback by the
seemingly random collection of names on my card, I couldn’t help but be
overwhelmed with gratitude for the amazing men and women of God I got to spend
these last four months with. Although our team had a rocky start, by God’s
grace, we came to not only like each other, but to begin to truly love one
another as well.

During the time of individual processing we had, I was reminded of Isaiah 43:18-21.

 Forget the former things;
Do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the
wasteland.
The wild animals honor me,
The jackals and the owls,
Because I provide water in the desert
And streams in the wasteland,

To give drink to my people, my chosen,

The people I formed for myself

THAT THEY MAY PROCLAIM MY PRAISEe.

This debrief so far has been filled with reminders of
what I learned in a BIG way last month – that all of this — all of LIFE — is for
God’s glory. I’m excited to see what God has in store for our squad (and my new
team) as we head to Africa in a few days! 🙂
