It’s about 2 am, Friday morning, Jan 7th, as I write this. We’re waiting at the Hyderabad airport for our flights in the morning. One team’s headed to northern India to work with a multi-faceted ministry there and ours is headed to Bangalore to work with YWAM. Though I feel unprepared to do street evangelism, preach and lead bible studies, I’ve been going back to 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 frequently… I’m prepared for the Spirit to work through me!

My mom shared a little bit about Benaiah when I called them after church last Sunday. I can’t wait to download the podcast from Indy Metro and listen to last Sunday’s message for myself. Being “strong and courageous” has been a BIG theme around here lately so it’s been cool to think about the kind of man that Benaiah was AND the lion that he killed in the pit on a snowy day (find a short synopsis of his story in 2 Samuel 23:20-21).

We’ve been really blessed to have had the last few days to rest, to receive teaching and words of wisdom, to have times of worship, encouragement, and prayer together. We’ve also been faced with our own lion (2 Pe 5:8-9) here these past few days, under attack — physically, with squadmates getting sick, and in our thoughts — being distracted, buying into lies, etc.

As each of the seven teams on our squad go out to our ministry sites, the devil will definitely be there too, prowling around like a roaring lion. And some (if not, most) days, we’ll be going straight into the pit where the lion is to slay him and free those he has taken captive. We’re definitely going to need a TON of courage!

Please pray for us as we officially start the Race, ministering in various sites all across India this month. Pray for strength, courage and wisdom. Pray for this nation of BILLIONS who are so precious to God. Most of all, please pray that the Spirit would move in mighty ways in us and in the hearts of the people we come into contact with.
