A while back, I wrote a blog post about my friend, Melissa, and her birthday campaign through Charity Water. I thought it was a beautiful idea, full of life, and an inspiration, just like Melissa’s life.
She has inspired me to do the same. This year, for my birthday, I want to give life to those who need it, through clean water. Melissa and I, as well as other people on my squad, saw the effects of dirty water and even had to drink it ourselves. We lived in areas where drinking water and dish water was all the same, and it was delivered two times a week by a tractor who sucked the water out of the swamp next door. We used the same water that we drank, to shower with, to do the dishes, and give to the animals.
We saw the sickness and death that could have been prevented by the simple fact of clean water. 5,000 kids die every day from not having clean water and the illnesses from drinking the dirty water. I want to change this. I want to share life in the form of clean water. I want to share life to people with the hopes of them seeing Jesus and his love. I want to use this as a way to share a simple part of the gospel. Please partner with me in bringing life to those who want it, and only need clean water to have it.
