First of all, I wanted to introduce you to my new team. This is team Lamp Lighter, minus Allison, who thankfully was able to join us today after being stuck in Miami longer than we all wanted. From the left is Ricky Lynn. She is a fun, Donald Miller-loving, How I Met Your Mother-watching fun person and we will get along very well! Next is Ginny. Unfortunately, I havent got to know her very well, but I can tell we will become close and share some amazing times. On the other side of the weird looking, bearded fellow is Sean. Coming straight from Ireland, he brings a punch to the team that is going to be so valuable! Next is my team leader, and also my bearded brother Nathan. All i can say is that I am pumped about working with him! Next is Jenna. Jenna frustrates me cause she kicks my butt in card games, but other than that I love her and am so ready to do work with her! They have gone through tremendous sacrifice having me on the team, and I am so thankful for their openness in having me! Pray for us as we begin our ministry tomorrow.
So with a team change comes a ministry change. I went from going to a village called KM-17, called that because its 17 kilometers from the nearest village, way out in the jungle, to going to Puerto Viejo. We are heading there tomorrow, which is going to be a 10 hour bus ride from where we are now. Then, Monday morning, we get on a boat, head down the river 6 hours to head to some Islands off the shore to do ministry for a week or so. After that week, we will come back, and we will be doing garbage dump ministry. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a heartbreaking ministry. We will be working with kids who live in the garbage dumps and are addicted to sniffing glue to get themselves through their lives where they think they have nothing to live for. It will be a hard month, but I know God is going to use us!
Satan has been bringing the heat today, and its amazing to see how well our team has been reacting. We have been preparing for our ministries, and as such, we have seen the Holy Spirit working in many numerous ways. And in reaction to that, Satan has been trying us. We had three different instances today were people from our squad were robbed. But in all three instances, we have stood up and told Satan to get behind us, that God’s power cant be stopped, and we fully believe God will use us to change the world like the world has never seen before. We standin in the kitchen, and we takin all the heat being thrown at us, cause if God is for us, nothing can be against us!

Today might be the last time I get to blog in a while and have contact with you all, so I humbly ask that you all be prayer warriors for us!
