Hey everyone! The time for launch is getting closer and I am excited to begin God’s calling for me in this next year! We have found out that we will be launching July 13th out of Miami, and our first country will be Ecuador! I am super excited about our ministry opportunity, and it will definitely be a stretching experience for me! I’m not sure I have taken the time yet to introduce you to the group of people I will be spending the year with. I am super excited about getting to know them, living in community with them, and seeing God do amazing things in and through us. So, here they are:
From the left, we have
http://laurenricks.theworldrace.org/. She brings a quiet, yet bold strong-ness to the team. She is a nurse, which knowing my clumsiness, is going to be a huge benefit for me haha.
Next is
http://jeffbray.theworldrace.org . Jeff was the first person I met at training camp. He is a champ! He hates the outdoors, and hates bugs, but has a strong sense for truth. I am excited to see God use him over this next year.
Next up is our fearless team leader,
http://lindsayshort.theworldrace.org. Lindsay is a humble, but firm leader who cares about people’s input and is going to be an amazing leader for our team in the next year! I am excited to follow her leadership and partner with her in ministry!
Next is by far the weirdest guy on the team, maybe even at all of camp…me. I mean look at that face! Whatever is going on might require a change of clothes haha.
Next is an awesome, amazing person who shares my love of donald miller, maybe even to a more extreme than me, which I didnt think was possible.
http://melissalowell.theworldrace.org brings so much fun and has a sense of humor that will have me laughing all year round. She also brings a quiet strength with her that is going to change the world!
Lastly, these two were the only surprise to me that I was not expecting. Coming in to the World Race, I never expected to be put on a team with a married couple, but I am so happy to be partnered with them!
http://coryandjessiegerman.theworldrace.org have been married almost two years and each have so many strengths! Cory has a strong, yet humble leadership quality. He honors his wife publically, and loves her unconditionally, and I am excited to learn how to treat a woman by watching him. Jessie has such a easy demeanor about her, and she is so easy to talk to, and listens to everything you have to say. People are going to open up to her, and she is going to share the love of Christ through her listening!
So there they are: team collision! We decided to name our team collision because we firmly believe that God intended heaven to be brought to earth to experience before we get to heaven. We truly believe that God’s will being done on earth is meant to bring heaven to earth. We believe we are God’s first option to bring the Gospel to the people we come in contact with. We believe our lives colliding with theirs will collide Christ’s love and story with their story, and will result in a much better story. We believe God will collide with us through healing, deliverance, and life changing experiences for us and for the people we come in contact with. Get ready for the most beautiful collision you have ever seen!
And this is where my next humble request comes in: I have been fortunate enough to be close to being fully funded. With the pledges I have, God has blessed me with being over the deadline I need to be at for launch. Because of that, I wanted to challenge everyone to have a chance to impact the world through sponsoring my team. I have talked with God about this a bit, because I am not fully funded and need more help, but at this point, my teammates all need more sponsors before they can launch in July. Cory and Jessie, being married, have to raise DOUBLE! So my challenge to you, please please please if you can, support them. I have provided the links(I hope they work) so all you have to do is click on their blog and hit the support button on the left hand side of the page. Doing this will not only bless me by giving me teammates, but bless them and give them the opportunity to change the world! Lets get them funded!
