Why do we question God so much? How is there so many times where we feel we are more intelligent than the one who created us. Our choice outweighs His more times than not. Yet us as believers love to tell the world that with God all things are possible. Through Him we can do everything because God can do everything. But can He?
If we really sit down and interpret what we are saying exactly, it starts to not make sense. Let’s start with what God is; love. What an amazing thing isn’t it? We are designed in His image, the image of unconditional love. It is really our sole purpose in this world. To spread love among all and bring glory to the one who shared it first. Seems easy enough. Turns out its actually quite difficult. For God loved us so much that he gave us free will, because what would love be if it forced upon us? Problem is we choose so much to love other things, especially ourselves, over God. This causes a lot of distance and discontentment. We then become constantly seeking to replenish ourselves with worldly things only to be left thirsty. Loosing sight of our true purpose.
God promises so much in our life. It’s this truth that brings me to the conclusion that he cannot do everything. For if God is the purest form of love, seemingly unfathomable, then there must be things GOD CAN’T DO. (Yeah, I said it). God Cannot Lie. I’m going to write it again so you say it again. God Cannot Lie. Really think about what that means, all the promises he has given to us. That there is nothing you can confess that will make Him love you less. He will never leave you, is always present, and follow you into the darkest of places with open arms ready for you to come back to Him. What about his ultimate promise that everyone knows?
John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
We need to constantly remind ourselves of whom God is, His promise to us, and His inability to revoke that promise. Gods plan is so much better than anything we could every come up with on our own. Let Him lead. There is so much comfort in knowing this. Know truth.
1 Corinthians 13:13 “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
