Dear Friends & Family,
I hope you are all doing well. After many sweet memories at Carmel Christian, my last year of high school is quickly coming to an end. With that said, it is a joy to share how the Lord has directed and given me an incredible opportunity for the upcoming school year. To give you a short summary of what the Lord has taught me this year, I found myself first semester not entirely sure how everything was going to end up. I took things into my own hands and began to plan the next five years of my life, I had thought the structure I was building up for myself could support my weight. Things drastically changed for me my midyear, as I went through a traumatic loss in my life. It left me in a state of deep brokenness and uncertainty, much like the situation with my father. Over a long course of healing, the Lord gave me a new perspective on my life. How I could serve Him occupied my thoughts. Through that the Lord was drawing me into His presence, wanting me to share His holiness- and I came to a point where I was deeply convicted. I realized I had not been listening to the Spirit speak, and I had not been truly seeking the face of the Father and abiding in His Word.
After praying, desiring God’s will, researching, and applying- it is an absolute joy to say I will be spending my next year overseas serving the Lord through missions. The sending organization for this Gap year is called Adventures in Missions which is of part of World Race. The organization sends college students to 3 separate continents over the course of 9 months. In each location I will be sharing and teaching the Gospel as well as partnering with local ministries that are in need of help and specific service. My launch date is set for early September of this year. Our team will first go to El Salvador, followed by Malawi, and then the Phillipines. Because I will be living out of country for 9 months, I am asking God to bring people along side who will partner with me financially and send me on this mission, The total trip balance including food, flights, housing, and all other expenses comes down to be $12,491. I have been assigned 3 financial deadlines (strongly suggested they are met) over the course of my preparation. The first one coming May 22 with a total balance of $6,000. Please understand that as much as I need financial support, I am in desperate need of prayer. Pray for my heart to be open to God’s will as I walk the streets of countries in need of the gospel, regardless the situation and challenge. Pray for the gospel to bear fruit as the Spirit speaks through all of us, and please begin to pray for my heart in preparation of this upcoming journey – that I will be encouraged, lean on the Lord’s strength, trust in His sovereignty, and through the Spirit will know that I have total boldness in the presence of darkness.
If you are interested in supporting me or have any other questions, know that you can contact me by email at [email protected], or by phone at 980-229-5393. ALSO, thanks to the World Race, you can directly donate online at my blog. The website is called ethanpugh.theworldrace.org where you can subscribe to my blog and follow my journey while I am away. As you visit my profile, you will find a small options list on the left hand side where you can find the tab “Support Me”. Please consider supporting the gospel through me for this journey. It would be my pleasure to sit and share my heart with you and what the Lord has been teaching me.
Blessings,
Ethan Pugh
