Life is an adventure. I can try to plan and prepare for it, but in the end I never end up where I thought I would be. Ethan and I have been living in Denver for a little over a year now and we are loving it. We are quite content here. He is ready to go to Denver Seminary and I am ready to find a full-time Kindergarten teaching position. At least, that’s what we thought we would be doing this fall. Instead, he will continue in his position as a Chevrolet salesman, and I will go back full-time as a sales associate at a local children’s clothing boutique. Why you might ask? Well, Ethan and I have heard the call.
“And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8
As of a few weeks ago Ethan and I have officially been accepted to take part in the World Race. We will be leaving with our team in January of 2016 and we could not be more excited! The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch our generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, our team will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution, and bring the restorative hope of God’s love to many tribes and nations.
As far as Ethan and I are concerned there is nothing more important in this world than loving God and loving people. We feel extremely blessed and humbled that God has provided this opportunity for us to go out and serve Him and further His kingdom in this way. We ask for your prayers as we take the next steps with fundraising and preparing for the race.
God is real and God is love, and we can’t wait to share that with the world!
