Just before leaving Cambodia, I realized that my team had not blogged about spending our prize money in Thailand from the race day winning(s). Better late than never, huh? 🙂 After winning the first race, we dedicated the prize money toward ministry (see Race Day Part I blog). We prayed about how the Lord wanted us to spend the money for His glory. So once we received the $50 USD in our team account, we knew what He wanted us to do– host a BBQ with our Thai friends at S.H.E. (Self Help and Empower).

As you may recall, four of our Thai friends who work at S.H.E. making jewelry already know the Lord personally. And the new S.H.E. workers do not know Him personally yet. So this evening was filled with fellowship, sharing the good news, and just plain fun. I had some wonderful chats with my Thai friends. And my friend Rose attended church with us that evening before the BBQ. Even though it was an overcast day, the one-on-one discussions were heart-warming.

The day we left Thailand, I bought each of the girls at S.H.E. a rose and printed off a picture from the BBQ and a one-on-one pictures with each of them. They LOVED that individual attention. I received warm hugs of thanks and heard utterance of thanks to God. Even the quietest S.H.E. girl named Rung, a devout Buddhist, showed warm emotion, giving me a huge hug and kiss, with tears in her eyes, she blessed me and thanked me. I blessed her in God’s Name, thanked her, hugged her, and committed to praying for her that week.

Here are some pictures from that evening:
