Our ministry here in Phnom Penh involves working with a local church body, being their hands and feet wherever needed. The church is called New Life Fellowship. It’s my understanding that they have a sister church in Eugine, Oregon, and their head pastor, who is my age, moved with his parents to Cambodia immediately after he graduated from high school. They have a rocking worship band, and translation available for the sermon. Which, I must comment, the translators amaze me. The sermon was translated phrase by phrase by a Cambodian preacher (or soon to be preacher, in my opinion). During the evening worship testimonies, a few Cambodians stand in the back listening to the testimonials while simultaneously speaking into a microphone that is transmitted to our radio and earbud set. I can’t understand how they talk and listen at the same time—they are definitely talented.

Ministry opportunities for our team include: Teaching English, helping during youth group times, construction at the nearby Christian preschool, working with churches in outskirt provinces, hanging out with students, etc. All of which I have done (or plan to do, in regard to provincial work). There are more opportunities for other teammates too—music, health care, media, etc. Yes, the name of the church fits them—It’s filled with New Life.

Please pray that we will be a blessing to New Life Fellowship. Also pray for them to continue to grow and be grounded in the Word, rocking their nation and the world for Christ. I’ve also been praying over them that the birds of the air will not pluck away and eat their seeds (Matthew 13), but that seeds planted this month will take root and be multiplied 100 times!

PS- Thursday we’re taking a couple day jaunt to Vietnam.  Please pray for safe travels and for us to sieze every opportunity to be bold for Christ.
