During the next six weeks, our June-team will be splitting up in family-teams. During this time, we will work with a January team, as to receive guidance, etc.
Yal ready for our first ministry plan announcement? (Remember, as always, it may change as the Spirit leads and needs are identified). Some of yal remembered me saying this trip may be a great “appetizer sampler” to see where the Lord wants to use me for His glory. Many of my other family-team members told me the same thing! So we were very excited to hear the following plan for my family-team.
Next week, beginning Monday, my family-team will work here in Swaziland with AIDS ministries. Since approximately half the Swazi population has AIDS, there are so many opportunities.
Pray for guidance from the Lord on which ministry we should do locally that would be appropriate for the week’s time. I’m excited, as I believe the Lord has been preparing my heart for this type of ministry for the last 1 ½ years! (Through work nfp organizations, and mission trips that fell through for me). Also, two of my teammates (Katey and Cricket) are nurses!
On June 20th, my family team, as well as one other June-team and at least one January-team, will travel to South Africa. Our mission: Children’s summer camps! We’ll have four days of training and then 3 weeks of camps in 3 different SA cities/villages. We’re exited! Many of my teammates are used to working with kids (including me with church, etc), and feel the Lord has called us to this ministry. The kids will probably be between 7-13 years old. Some kids will also bring their younger siblings since the older kids care for the younger ones.
Please pray that many children will come to know the Lord through fun, meaningful ministry.
The remaining 2 weeks before debriefing, we plan to fulfill a construction project need in South Africa, which also brought joy to my team of 7 and the other 2 teams heading to South Africa. Maybe I can bring my 10-key? That’s a tool, right?? 🙂
