We made it to Swaziland! Actually, we made it on Saturday evening, but I’m just now able to blog about it. I tried on Monday, and had computer issues. Here’s our journey: My half of the June team left GA on Thursday evening, flew into London Friday mid-morning, flew into J-berg South Africa Saturday morning, and drove to Swaziland arriving Saturday evening.
In Swazi, we met up with the January team. They were so welcoming! They had a big sign up for us to greet us. It was great to see them again! (I had met the 50+ of them in September at my first WR training). They were here in Swazi debriefing and now are doing ministry here.
As for the June team, we are training in Swazi for the week. We have morning and afternoon practical sessions learning tips from the Jan-teams on topics like food prep, leading tips, safety, etc. Since we’re only the 3rd team to go on the WR, we have a lot to learn from them. In the evening we have spiritual “food”—worship and the Word.
During this first week, we are getting a little spoiled. We actually have a house to live in! It’s a large house (by Swazi standards), with approx. 80 people living in or tenting around it. We have a magnificent view! Check it out.
(I’ll post a picture here if I can based on internet capability… if not, ‘next time gadet’)
Please Pray with me & the team:
1) Please pray for wisdom, love, faithfulness, grace, truth, etc, for me as I lead our small team. Also pray that I will have grace with myself.
Last night I was reading in Proverbs – that I should have “steadfast love and faithfulness” beneficial “for God and man” (Look it up… see if I remember the verse correctly in Proverbs 3 (approx. verses 3-4)). Then it talks about Trusting in the Lord with all your heart, lean on His understanding, and He’ll direct you. I pray to lead our team in that manner.
2) Also pray for our small team of 7 to have discernment from the Spirit for our next ministry in Swaziland/South Africa.
3) Internet connection is slow. Please pray it will build character 🙂
