I recently spent a couple weeks in the Middle East visiting my very dear family who moved there with their business.  Immediately I fell in love with the people.  Don’t get me wrong, I did NOT accept any marriage proposals or date invitations.  The people I met were so sincere and friendly.  It made me think, if those who may not yet know the True Hope and Eternal Joy can be so filled with sincere love, how much more should I–who has undeservedly experienced Jesus’ true love toward me–also sincerely love others!

On another note….

I’m not a picky eater.  There are very few foods I hate.  Bananas are one of them.
Knowing that bananas are a staple in many countries, I’ve been attempting to eat bananas these past several months.  Side note, grocery store workers look at you weird when you buy one very small banana.  I went from buying a banana (and then tossing it b/c it turned black), to putting part of one in a smoothie, to actually eating a couple bites.  While visiting overseas, my new friends threw a party for me and introduced me to henna.  While letting the henna dry on my hands and feet, these friends wanted to make sure we had enough food in us (like a large lunch wasn’t enough food), so they brought in a snack…  Before I knew it, I was being fed bananas!   This picture was taken by my family as proof, as they roared with laughter, knowing my secret disdain.  Look Mom!  I ate two bananas!  Fortunately, I’ve gone from a vivid hatred of bananas to a sincere dislike.  I even bought and ate a small one (over the course of 2 days) since I’ve been back in MN.  It’s a step in the right direction!
