This past weekend, 30 brave friends crammed into the first floor of my townhome for my second WR gathering. Yes, these hearty souls braved round # 1 of ‘the blizzard of the winter,’ buried with snow. OK, so actually my Minneapolis suburb received 1 ½ feet of snow (not really 6 feet, except from plowing & snow drifts– see pic below), but round # 2 tonight promises another foot or two.
Humorously, the first WR gathering was held on the coldest day of the winter, with temperatures holding in the -20F’s. Yet 14 warm dear souls attended, sharing their love and support. The house filled with warmth.
During this time, I was given the opportunity to share my heart – my calling from the Lord, current battles as I prepare, practical details of the trip, opportunities to support, the story behind my support cards & verse, and the highly anticipated (yet tentative) route around the world.
Praise God for these dear friends who attended!! Yal blessed my socks off, offering encouragement, commitment to pray daily or often, financial support, and a TON of love. And for the many who would have loved to come (out of town family & friends, etc), your love & support has been evident through notes, blog comments, support, and prayers– Thank you!! Please continue encouraging me in these ways as we journey around the world together 🙂
