Hey everyone! As we get closer to the end of the race, it's getting harder to make time to write a blog post. I'll do my best to write one before the end of this month, but I'll also be home soon and can tell you stories in person! But here's one really important thing I need to write about right now.
As a squad, we are reaching out for your help one more time because some of us are still not fully funded. The people on my squad started as strangers, became my friends, and are now my family. Walking with each of them through this crazy, beautiful journey has been one of the greatest blessings of this year. It's my prayer that everyone could one day know what it's like to live in a community like this where people fight for each other, where you don't have to worry about taking care of yourself because you know other people have your back, and where the challenges of one person become the challenges of everyone else. And this is why we're all coming together on behalf of our incredible squadmates.
They're not going to send people home because of money with only one month left, but let me explain why this final push is so important. Anyone who isn't fully funded by the end of the race will owe the remaining money when they're home. For ten months, we have all poured ourselves into something incredible; money hasn't stopped us. I'm fully expecting great things to continue happening when we're home too… because we're coming home with bigger dreams, stronger callings, and more determination to do something meaningful than we had when we left. The race is not just a trip that's ending; it's a launching pad for the rest of our lives. The post-race dreams and plans people have inspire me, and I don't want finances to hold them back or delay them from doing what's next. Money is only an obstacle to be conquered.
