First, I want to thank all of my amazing, gracious supporters that helped me reach this point! There is no way I could have done this alone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to be 50% funded. Your support brings great encouragement. Thank you always for the continuous love and support.
Today, my squad and squad leaders landed in Albania. We traveled the true world race missionary style and said goodbye to America on July 1st, meaning we traveled for 3 days to reach our ministry site.
We start our send off from Atlanta to the O’hare airport in Chicago. From there, we flew on Turkish Airlines into Turkey. I felt so pampered on our 12 hour flight. When we landed my squad camped out in the terminal overnight during the 12 hour layover. We jumped on the plane all bright eyed at 6 AM Turkish time towards Albania. I may have even cried when we touched down in Albania, because my heart was so happy. My team, Ezer, was picked up by our transportation and rode 45 minutes North, to reach our ministry site – Lehze, Albania. (Pronounced Lehjjjj)
This month, my team’s ministry is with the Lehze Academic Center. For the next month we will assist in teaching English. The school has a summer program right now, and youth from the 6th to 12th grade come in the morning to learn English. Along with teaching, we will helping out with games for English Bible School (Vacation Bible School) in two weeks. I am so thankful to have worked at a summer camp for 3 summers and be a part of a youth group growing up because, it will definitely become handy. I am so ecstatic for our first ministry, because this is my element.
The staff at the school is wonderful and full of life. After my team settled into our living area above the school, the staff showed us the market and mall located by our building. The three women were very kind as we butchered Albanian words for “Thank You”, “Hello” and ” water”. Our ministry host, Klementina, has her heart in education, and it only takes one coffee date to see her love. What’s greater is to see her passion for her belief towards the children of Lehze to have hopes and dreams about their future! I cannot wait to meet the youth on Monday morning.
Please continue to keep my team, Ezer, in your prayers this month; along with the rest of my squad as we start our journey in Albania.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here I am. Send me!” -Isaiah 6:8
