Dear Friends + Family,
It’s with great honor and joy to announce my participation in a program called the World Race. The World Race is an opportunity to see the world through ministry and service. A branch of Adventures of Missions, the Race is an interdenominational missions organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989. I have the privilege to journey across 11 countries within 11 months to serve amongst real and raw communities. Come October 2016 I will be traveling to Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Ukraine, Romania, Albania, and Greece.
In each country, my team and I will be partnering with national churches and ministries to meet the needs of the communities. Some of these needs include preaching the gospel, planting churches, working with orphans, doing construction projects, and ministering to women and children trapped in prostitution. This is all in an effort to bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
Why do I want to do this– I’ve been working in the corporate world for three years now and the “there has to be something more” kind of feeling is more powerful than ever. I want to experience more than just the nine to five lifestyle that I’ve grown accustomed to. I’ve always had a heart for the nations but never have I been bold enough to take action and actually GO. I finally have that opportunity, but I need your help!
It is required that I raise $16,561 over the course of 11 months. That said, this journey requires much sacrifice. I will be working two jobs to pay not only what I can towards meeting this goal on my own, but I will also continue to maintain the responsibility of paying my own bills. I will be leaving a steady job, that I enjoy, a salary with benefits and my sweet friends in Dallas to do this. The task of fundraising is daunting and uncomfortable, but in this journey it means stepping into obedience. I am confident in God’s faithfulness and His call on my life.
