Oh what an exciting and fun week it has been! Winget Farm welcomed its newest addition in the early morning hours on Sunday, July 13, 2008. “With Bravado” better known around the barn as “Baby Bravo” was born to our mare Bonus. Bonus is a super mom and has taken excellent care of her fourth baby and allowed us to handle Baby Bravo from moments after she was born so that this little filly will grow up fully confident in people.

Baby Bravo has really made me think a lot about how important beginnings can be. How this little filly begins her life will largely shape who she becomes. Some of her earliest expriences will determine what kind of horse she will be, not to mention that 11 months of work (inside her momma) went into preparing this little girl for the world! It is imperative that these beginnings are acted upon with great intention. I have so many “beginnings” ahead in the next few months. In approximately 14 days I will be heading down to Gainesville, GA to meet my squad for the first time. These are the beginnings of the relationships that will be surrounding me for the next year of my life. A month after that I will be embarking on the beginning of a new journey and what I have been preparing for since May.  I am learning from Baby Bravo that the time that I have now to prepare can largely shape what is to come. I am learning to be intentional with my time, energy and resources so that I will reap the harvest of this time over the next year. Hopefully this time will plant seeds in Baby Bravo’s life, too.
